Tasty or not?
Bought a few beautiful looking pears the other day, but upon tasting one found they were just that - beautiful looking but not tasty. What to do? Throw them out or try to improve the taste. Well the frugalness in me took over and I decided to poach them.
A beautiful pair of desserts, pears a nice golden color with a rich looking sauce.
The verdict? Beautiful looking dessert but not all that tasty. I will definitely make again, however, I will use better tasting pears, better wine, stick cinnamon, a little vanilla, and perhaps a dollop of freshly whipped cream.
